Salicylic acid is a colorless crystalline organic liquid with so many medicinal and beauty benefits. It is a very important essential drug found in major skincare products used in our everyday lives. Where is it gotten from? From a willow tree, salicylic acid is biosynthesized from the amino acid phenylalanine, could also be made from hydrolysis of aspirin which explains its anti inflammatory nature. What is it used for?
