Dear fave,

The secret to an African beauty is in the richness of her skin. Rich in color, consistent in resilience, a true reflection of all a skin should be, fully unmatched thanks to the melanin factor she possesses.

Last week we looked at the basic skins anatomy in its simplest form, so you know where we derive melanin from and what its uses are.

It is quite safe to say that a well-pigmented skin is the envy of those without it, while those with it feel the need to have to work to attain a flawlessly beautiful skin. Yes, it’s true in form of tans, in the form of contours, and every new cosmetic rave almost involves the sweet dark corners and angles that bring to light the tone.

I like to glow thanks to nature yet still, I try to assist with makeup, more like enhance with heavy highlights when necessary not to forget a glittered well pigmented cosmetic product which is my preference and I’m sure for many too. Simple to say because of the tone of our skin, The amount of melanin pigment in the skin determines an individual's skin color. Skin pigment can be inherited genetically or can be acquired through various diseases. Hormonal changes during pregnancy can also vary the amount of pigmentation.

The skin possesses qualities to alternate her tone dependent on the condition it’s faced with, like the climate condition, the kind of care received and diet.

It’s no secret that in a colder climate the skin reacts less with the harmful ultraviolet rays and has less need to change any factors leaving the skin fairer with less melanin in circulation at work, while in hotter climates the effects of the sun rays on the skin activates the absorption of the radiant energy promoting the skin from the harmful effects of the UV radiation.

In a jiffy it’s good to remember that sun protection factor (SPF) is always your best friend, be proud of the beautiful skin color you possess, flaunt and protect it, your future self will say thanks.

Love, F.P.
